CSR Activities

Supporting Special Education with STEAM

We partnered with the Primary Care Education Foundation to support Hong Chi Morninghill School, Tsui Lam, a special school dedicated to providing quality education and equipping every graduate with employability skills in providing a series of STEAM workshops and a wall painting project for students.

In line with the school’s vision, through the STEAM-based teaching activities, students were given the opportunity to learn through play. We also made regular visits to show are care for the students. In December 2025, we were invited to join their Christmas party, and in 2026, we accompanied students in a STEAM workshop.

We hope that we can contribute to helping students grow with confidence and creativity.

THE SALVATION ARMY ORIENTEERING CHARITY CUP

In March 2026, we joined The Salvation Army’s Orienteering Charity Cup in the Shatin district, with an aim to support those in need across society. Our colleagues formed six teams to represent our company. Participants navigated through different checkpoints to search for orienteering targets. Along the way, they also enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Shatin.

It was a day filled with teamwork, adventure and purpose, proving that giving back is both meaningful and fun!

Earth Hour 2026

We have always been proud supporters of Earth Hour, and 2026 was no exception! On March 28 at 8:00p.m., our buildings joined the global movement by switching off lights for one hour.

This simple yet powerful act reminds us that we can make a difference together, by reducing energy use, raising awareness, and showing our commitment to protect our planet.

St. James’ Settlement 75th Anniversary Flag Day

In April 2025, 30 volunteers and their families from Sunlight REIT joined the St. James’ Settlement’s 75th Anniversary Flag Day, demonstrating our sustainable collaboration with St. James’ Settlement on various aspects of corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Sensory Restaurant on Wheels

From May to November 2025, we once again partnered with The Project Futurus and hosted two sessions of “Sensory Restaurant on Wheels” in elderly centers in Wan Chai and Tseng Kwan O respectively, to provide soft meal dim sum to the elderly with swallowing difficulties, hoping to create a delightful “yum cha” experiences for them.

During each session of the “Sensory Restaurant on Wheels”, the elderly centers were converted into traditional Chinese restaurants. Our colleagues acted as managers, assistant waiters and chefs to serve dim sum soft meals to the elderly. After eating, we had a party filled with singing, dancing, and laughter filled the room as everyone had a wonderful time together!

We hope that through this activity, the elderly participants can receive cognitive stimulation through five senses, as well as enjoy the “yum cha” experience and recall their fond memories.

Green Day 2025

To help promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable conservation efforts, Sunlight REIT participated in the “Hong Kong Green Day 2025” organized by the Green Council. The event comprised of a series of programs for our staff, including the “Green Day”, a sports day and a low-carbon living workshop.

In June 2025, we launched our debut “Green Day”, during which our senior management briefed all staff on Sunlight REIT’s sustainability vision, strategies and initiatives, as well as how sustainable practices are incorporated into our business and operations. Further, we formed a Sunlight REIT corporate team to participate in the “Green Sports Day x Indoor Smart Bike Sprint” in Ma On Shan in late June. This race strengthened our team spirit and provided an opportunity for our cyclists to exercise.

In August 2025, we partnered with the Green Council to organize a “Low-Carbon Living Seminar & Eco-Friendly Glass Lantern Workshop” for our staff, reminding them to reduce carbon footprint in their daily lives.

SKIP-A-MEAL

For over a decade, we have supported World Vision’s SKIP-A-MEAL campaign.

In July 2025, we organized our SKIP-A-MEAL Day. On that day, the company did not provide lunch to participating colleagues, and donated the lunch fee to World Vision to help those in need.

Sunshine Fortune Bags

In October 2025, we partnered with Sunshine Action for the second year to run our Sunlight Fortune Bag Program during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Our staff volunteers spent a morning packing 480 Sunlight fortune bags filled with canned food, noodle and rice.

The next day, our staff volunteers visited the homes of elderly to deliver the fortune bags. They spent time talking with the seniors, listening to their stories, and sharing warm wishes. These small moments of connection helped show our care and brought joy to the elderly. The program reminded us that even simple acts of kindness can make a big difference.

DIY Snowy Mooncakes and LED Lightstrip Art Workshop

To foster a sense of community and compassion, we expressed our care and support for children in need, especially during festive seasons.

In collaboration with Christian Action, our volunteers made snowy mooncakes with underprivileged children in the Yau Tsim Mong District during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Additionally, we organized a “DIY LED Lightstrip Art Workshop” with ethnic minority children at West 9 Zone, during Christmas.

Muscle Training Program

From July to November 2025, we collaborated with Christian Family to arrange a muscle training program for elderly participants. The program included 20 workshops for 45 seniors, helping them build muscle strength to stay active and independent. Stronger muscles can lower the risk of falls, bone fractures, and even help prevent osteoporosis.

After the workshops, Christian Family hosted a public exhibition at MCPI in November to showcase these seniors’ progress and achievements. On the exhibition day, shoppers at MCPI were invited to take part in a preliminary assessment to learn more about their muscle conditions. We hope that the event can inspire attendees to consider incorporating regular exercise into their daily routines and encourage a community-wide commitment to healthy aging.

Hunger Run 2025

In October 2025, Sunlight REIT proudly served as the title sponsor of the “Hunger Run 2025”, a charity event organized by FOODSPORT. The charity run took place at Tseung Lam Highway Garden with around 2,000 participants. Our support extended beyond financial contributions, as we mobilized more than 70 of our staff and their families to participate as runners and helpers.

A unique feature of the charity run was the conversion of calories burned by participants into food donations for the Foodlink Foundation. For this Year, the run raised a total of 631,108 calories, equivalent to 3,155 bowls of rice, which were donated to people in need.

To foster team spirit, we organized a staff dress-up competition on the day of the run, encouraging creativity and camaraderie among staff.

MCPI played a central role as the event hub and hosted a vibrant four-day Fresh & Zesty Carnival for both runners and visitors.

Through our sponsorship and active participation, Sunlight REIT contributed to the fight against hunger and promoted healthy living and community engagement among staff, tenants and the wider community.

The Community Chest Dress Casual Day 2025

We joined The Community Chest Dress Casual Day 2025, where colleagues donated and came to work in their casual wear with an aim to help people in need.

Plantation Enrichment Program

Partnering with The Green Earth by joining their Plantation Enrichment Program, we organized a tree-care activity in December 2025 in Tai Lam Country Park.

During the activity, our staff volunteers provided tree care at Tai Lam Country Park, including planting seedlings, weeding, and adding fertilizer. We hope that our efforts contribute to enriching biodiversity, providing vital food sources for wildlife and promoting the growth of young trees – boosting their survival rate and maximizing their positive impact on the environment. This activity offered our staff volunteers a chance to connect with nature, enjoy healthy outdoor exercise, and deepen their understanding of the diverse species in Hong Kong. The half-day journey served as a meaningful reminder of the importance of hands-on action and the shared responsibility we all have to protect our planet.

Sunshine Fortune Bags

To celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival in September 2024, we partnered with Sunshine Action (耀陽行動) to pack and distribute a total of 500 fortune bags containing rice, pasta and canned food to the elderly living in various districts in Hong Kong. Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for the reunion of families and friends. Through this meaningful activity, we hope to spread joy to the elderly in Hong Kong.

Sensory Restaurant on Wheels

We collaborated with The Project Futurus and hosted a series of soft meal activities from August to October 2024, offering delightful “yum cha” experiences to elderly with swallowing difficulties. These activities included a soft meal cooking workshop and four sessions of the “Sensory Restaurant on Wheels” held at various elderly centers in the community.

The soft meal cooking workshop equipped our volunteers with the skills needed to prepare soft meals. During the “yum cha” sessions, the elderly centers were converted into traditional Chinese restaurants. Around 15 of our staff volunteers assisted in each session with simple venue setup and taking on different operational roles to serve meals to the participants.

The participating elderly received cognitive stimulation through five senses and enjoyed a delightful and interactive event that helped them recalling fond memories of “yum cha”. We hope that this initiative can promote social inclusion and raise awareness about well-being of elderly.

Carers Thanksgiving Event 2.0

Riding on the warm CSR activity “Carers Thanksgiving Event 1.0” in 2023, the Manager partnered with St. James Settlement again and launched “Carers Thanksgiving Event 2.0” in the second quarter of 2024.

Serving a total of almost 500 beneficiaries, the initiative featured workshops, interactive sessions and a grand finale luncheon. This activity aim at showing appreciation and support to the tireless caregivers, while giving our heartfelt respect to the elderly community.

Children’s Vision Support Programme

Amid rising childhood myopia and astigmatism due to the increasing prevalence of electronic devices in Hong Kong, we partnered with the Evangelical Lutheran Church Social Service to launch the “Children’s Vision Support Programme” between April and August 2024. Targeting underprivileged families, the initiative included home environment assessments, vision check-ups, free myopia-control glasses and health education.

More than 95% of children of the participating families had vision issues requiring glasses or therapy, including hyperopia and retinal concerns. Through the programme, 86% received specialized glasses to slow myopia progression.

By combining practical support, screenings and education, we hope that this programme can help improve vision of vulnerable children, addressing a critical gap in community care.

Drawing from the Heart

With a growing number of elderly living alone in Hong Kong, social support for managing their feelings and emotions is important to mitigate the risk of mental health problems. To help those elderly to express their feelings and emotions in a natural way, we partnered with the Christian Family Service Centre and organized a series of sand painting workshops from November 2023 to February 2024.

Subsequent to the workshops, their sand paintings were exhibited at MCPI from 9 to 17 March 2024 and at DSFC from 18 March to 11 April 2024. 36 elderly participated in this initiative. We hope that we can organize meaningful activities for the elderly and the community.

Recycling-related workshops with YMCA

We partnered with YMCA on a three-month program for 50 teenagers, which included a series of sustainable art and design activities.

In May 2023, participants visited Tung Chung and the Lantau Island to learn about sustainable town planning practices. Through the visit, we shared our experience to the younger generation on the importance of having a sustainable and environmentally conscious lifestyle so that they can become environmental responsible citizens, as well as promote eco-friendly consumption, while illustrating the benefits of using a capacity-oriented approach to town planning.

Subsequent workshops allowed participants to engage with local artists and delve into the world of installation art. The programme culminated in an art piece design competition and competing teams created artworks by using recycled materials and outstanding entries were displayed in the lobby of DSFC at the end of 2023. This meaningful initiative provided young people an opportunity to learn about sustainability through art and design.

“Care the Caregivers”

Sunlight REIT organized a series of “Care the Caregivers” events with the support of St. James’ Settlement  to pay tribute to caregivers of persons with chronic illnesses, disabilities or other needs, and to raise public awareness of the challenges they face.

Commencing from November 2022 for three months, we jointly organized 16 online and physical workshops (such as massage therapy) for the caregivers with St. James’ Settlement, finishing the program with a lunch banquet held at MCPI in January 2023. Over 150 people, including 48 pairs of caregivers and care receivers attended the event, providing them with an opportunity to come together for a joyous lunch gathering.

Walk for Millions

The Company is delighted to take part again in the Community Chest’s Hong Kong & Kowloon Walk for Millions 2022/2023.

The walk took place on 15 January 2023 and we had a total of 19 staff joining the activity. Starting from Hong Kong Stadium, the route finished at Aberdeen Country Park Visitor Centre.

The fund raised was used to support family and child welfare services through the Community Chest.
